HOMESICK!!!! ....(for Lake Powell)

So I've decided Lake Powell is like the mother ship. It calls to us (us being, my familia). I mean really, it always there, sometimes in the back of our minds, sometimes all our brains can pulsate on, there with every thought running through minds wishing they were on the beach. I'm convinced its embedded in our DNA. Case in point, this morning the first thing I saw was the sun shining. Was my first thought, 'oh crap I'm late,' 'hopefully it'll be nice and hot,' or even 'I wish I could sleep in a little later?" No. It was "I bet that sunrise would look amazing at the lake." And from there all productivity or hopes of thinking of anything else was out the window.

I kept hearing speed boats, my shirt looked like a design on a swimsuit, heck when I was washing my face it felt like I was washing it with the sand. It got even worse once I got onto facebook. I suddenly realized that, there are a lot of pictures of Lake Powell on there. And my family seems to have caught the same bug I did. I can't even tell you how many people mentioned Lake Powell in their status', comments on said status', wall posts, profile pictures etc etc For example, one cousin's status: "I can't wait till we go to Lake Powell!" (He's lucky enough to leave Monday, while the rest of us won't get there until Wednesday). Another wall post mentioned "I can't wait to go to Lake Powell with you and Aryn." And the list goes on. Then blogspot. Feener's last 2 posts made me homesick for the lake!

So I succumbed to the siren's call. The desktop on my work computer is now Lone Rock. I listened to songs that remind me of the lake (AC/DC and Johnny Cash anyone???) Braided and rebraided my hair countless times, and I also added to the facebook ramblings. The only thing keeping me sane at this point is that in a mere 6 days, 15 hrs, 51 min and 34 seconds (if the drive will take me as long as mapquest expects) I will actually be there. Hair braided back, toes digging in the cool sand, Pepsi in hand, laughing my head off and enjoying every nanosecond with my absolutely insane, loud, completely unreplaceable family. =)

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to find some recordings of waves and drunk's to fall asleep to. =D jk jk, THAT I can do without!
